Employee Spotlight – Timothy Lynch

How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
My career to date recruitment skills have capitalized & benefitted from servicing a much larger territory within the Northeast, since joining the firm in May of 2015.

In my career I am most proud of…
In my career I am most proud of…..helping individuals find new employment, and assisting clients with their staff augmentation requirements. It has always made me proud to be a catalyst within the talent acquisition life cycle, and to successfully make the appropriate match for both my candidates & clients. This holds especially true for candidates who were not currently working at the time. The realization of….and the dramatic positive impact a “new job” offers someone, has always made me proud that I chose a career in the Recruiting industry 25 years ago.

My favorite quote is…
“None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an afterthought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.” – Christopher Walken

Three words to describe myself…
Optimistic, Loyal, & Dedicated

My perfect day is…
A day at the beach with my Wife & 2 children enjoying the waves, and exploring the shoreline.

Advice for my 16 year old self…
Don’t run so fast with scissors, take time to enjoy more of the moments & special people around you, talk less & listen more, and slow down going into corners.

The person who had the biggest impact on my life is…
My Dad. He opened the gates of opportunity to all the people and destinations that helped me grow into the person, husband, father, friend, and professional that I am today.

Number 1 on my bucket list is…
To take my wife on a World Tour with Nat Geo Expeditions.

What is your best tip on how to stay connected while still practicing social distancing during COVID-19?
A simple, unadulterated phone call. It is uncomplicated, and if executed correctly- it can really mean a lot to the person on the other end. Change a life and bring a smile to someone else one call at a time.

What is one thing you hope to achieve in 2021?
Continue to perform random acts of kindness for total strangers.
