Meet Ashley Malchuk - Talent Acquisition Director

Employee Spotlight – Ashley Malchuk

Tell us a little about yourself….
Born & raised in Claverack, NY (upstate NY), moved to Chicago for 7 years before landing in Stamford, CT where I reside with my husband, my energetic (almost) 2 year old son, and my Bernese mountain dog, Chi. We are a huge sports family – my husband & I met playing hockey at RPI where we went to college. We’re rooting for the NY Rangers to bring home the cup!

How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
As part of joining a larger Talent Acquisition organization here at Marcum, I’ve been able to learn from my colleagues new creative ways to source, shared best practices, and it’s allowed me to collaborate with a team of great recruiters.

My favorite quote is…
Big doors swing on small hinges.

Three words to describe myself…
Ambitious, caring, & team-oriented.

My perfect day is…
Spending a hot summer day out on the boat in Lake George with my family & friends.

Advice for my 16 year old self…
Enjoy life – work hard, travel often (out of the country), and keep in touch with those that matter.

Number 1 on my bucket list…
To finally go on my honeymoon to South Africa to go on a safari. Thanks Covid!

The person who had the biggest impact on my life is…
My son – He’s only been in my life for 2 short years, but in that short amount of time he’s given me a new purpose in life. He’s made me want to be a better person by excelling in everything I do both personally and professionally so he can look up to me as he continues to grow up.

In my career I am most proud of…
The relationships I’ve built. My colleagues have become close friends who I will stay connected to throughout my personal and professional career.

A funny or memorable experience from your career or personal life?
I’ve had too many memorable experiences to choose just one. The most memorable time in my life was living in Chicago for 7 years where I made life-long friends, hopped on the Cubs bandwagon, became a fan of music festivals, fell in love with Chicago style hot dogs, competitively played kickball and floor hockey, and enjoyed my summers playing volleyball on North Avenue Beach.
