Employee Spotlight – Marti Glass

Tell us a little about yourself
I try to always look for the positive in people and situations. I’m action oriented and a natural problem solver, so I’m always looking for creative solutions to problems and the quickest path to get there. I love the creative arts including theater, traditional art and everyday crafts. I have a German Shepard – Shiba Inu mix named Titan who is turning 12 in November. I have been married since 2017 and look forward to celebrating my 40th birthday this May!

How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
As a creative person, finances and taxes have never been my strongest area. Being able to learn the different types of Taxation, Accounting Services and how it relates to industry has helped my personal understanding of the financial world in a more clear way.

My favorite quote is
“Look for the Helpers.” – Mr. Rogers

Three words to describe myself
Passionate, articulate, kind

My perfect day is
Waking up without an alarm and having a nice breakfast with my husband and dog. Doing something active and creative during the day, being able to spend time with my friends and family.

Advice for my 16 year old self
What other people think of you is none of your business!

Number 1 on my bucket list
Seeing the Northern Lights!

The person who had the biggest impact on my life is
My mom!

In my career I am most proud of
The ability to help people find jobs. The direct impact it makes on families lives is still never lost on me.

A funny or memorable experience from your career or personal life?
Before he passed away, I once got to see Bob Saget live. He’d been someone I grew up with and everyone who knows me knew I’m a big fan. While coming off stage, my husband stood up to shake his hand and put his arm on his back and basically guided him to me to be sure he would shake my hand before running backstage.

I like to muse that my husband once “body checked’ Bob Saget for me.
