Meet Jennifer Marcinkowski, Executive Vice President

Employee Spotlight – Jennifer Marcinkowski

How has your career grown since starting at Marcum Search?
My career has grown since I started with Marcum Search as I am now the Executive Vice President for our Los Angeles office. I am very excited to expand our legal search division and Marcum LLP, being our parent company, has given me all of the resources we could possibly need to succeed. I have also expanded my knowledge in various industries and practice areas outside of legal.

In my career I am most proud of…
I am most proud of creating an amazing team to work with. Each one of us adds value in a different way and we constantly learn from each other. I’m also proud of the lasting relationships I’ve built with my clients and candidates over the last two decades.

My favorite quote is…
“Nothing worth having comes easy”

Three words to describe myself…
Outgoing, Balanced, Reliable

My perfect day is…
My perfect day consists of an ocean view, live music and a good meal with my family. A perfect night would be in Vegas…I love to gamble!

Advice for my 16 year old self…
I would tell my 16 year old self to slow down and enjoy being a teen. I was always trying to grow up too fast and there is plenty of time for “adulting” later. Also, learn to say no. I had a hard time saying no due to FOMO (Fear of missing out).

The person who had the biggest impact on my life is…
The person who had the biggest impact on my life is my brother. He always encouraged me to go for anything in life and he constantly reminded people they were beautiful inside & out. He passed away in 2011 and I’m reminded daily to live each day to its fullest. He also had a special calming effect with people and he always reminded everyone to “BREATHE” ❤️

Number 1 on my bucket list is…
Number 1 on my bucket list is to attend the Kentucky Derby for my Birthday with all my friends and family!

What is your best tip on how to stay connected while still practicing social distancing during COVID-19?
My best advice to stay connected during COVID-19 is to keep yourself busy by checking in with your family & friends regularly. Pick up the phone. Set up virtual happy hours. My team and I zoom every Friday and it’s been great to keep us all connected. I also love to hop in my car do a “drive by” to chat with friends or to drop off a little treat or a meal. What I’ve loved most during this quarantine is the extra time I’ve been able to get with my husband & teens. It is something I never thought I’d have the chance to do because we are all so busy. We have had more family meals and more game nights than I ever could have hoped for. Take advantage of this unusual time!
